1 person 1 vote, the basis of all Democracy, but do politicians have any right to enforce compulsory voting?

The hook is "Every one has a responsibility to vote in an election", but shouldnt the political parties have a responsibility to provide politicians of "QUALITY" and "INTEGRITY". Do either of these words apply to current crop of politicians in this country ? ill leave that for you to answer yourself, no doubt the daily telegraph will tell you all how and what your supposed to think in the lead up to the election.
